Dear Kate!

Thanks for your letter. You ask me to tell you about some places of interest in Kharkiv.

I will tell you about our Freedom Square. It is the largest square in Europe. It is approximately 690-750 metres (2,260- 2,460 feet) long and 96-125 metres (315- 410 feet) wide. The area of the complete square is approximately 12 hectares. A notable landmark of the square is the Derzhprom building, a prime example of constructivist architecture.

Lots of concerts and meetings usually take part in the Freedom Square.

The main New year tree can be also seen here.
